Q: What are the lenses made of?

We use lightweight plastic lenses for most of our glasses. In this modern age most of the lenses are made in plastic. Glass lenses is a thing of the past and we do not offer glass lenses.

Q: Do you sell prescription sunglasses and other tinted lenses?

Yes. We have a variety of colours of tints ( with standard 15-20% light transmission) or you can have “ sun reactive “ or photosensitive lenses. These lenses are almost clear in normal lighting conditions and get dark depending upon how much sunlight there is. The brighter it is, the darker the lenses will go. These lenses include a 100% UV filter. These options can be specified when ordering (on the product customisation page).

Q: Do you do special lens coating and tints?

We offer a number of different lens coatings and tints : Sunglasses Tint (£15 extra), Anti- reflective coating (£15 extra ),UV 400 protective coating (£15 extra) , Scratch resistant coating (£ 15 extra).

Q: Do you sell bifocal lenses?

Yes. Bifocal lenses are an additional charge of £ 30.

Q: What is the segment shape of the bifocal lenses?

As standard we use D28 bifocal lenses. These are 28mm wide “D” shaped segments that are positioned vertically 3mm below the centre of the lens and horizontally are centred on your pupillary distance. If you would like them to be positioned further up or down (higher or lower) then do state on your order. We can also make up bifocal lenses which are D35 bifocals which are slightly wider. We will contact you after you place your order to discuss which option is best for you.

Q: Do you do varifocal lenses?

Yes. Varifocal lenses are offered at an additional charge of £ 60.

Q: Can I order frames with Plano Lenses?

Yes. Just specify in the prescription form that you require plano lenses.
